Construction
Many tar instruments have a waisted, double-bowl body and a membrane soundtable. Mulberry is commonly associated with the carved body, while other woods and materials may be used for the neck, fingerboard, pegs and fittings. Frets, strings and tuning
Tar instruments generally use movable tied frets, but the number and placement of frets are not universal.
