About the Setar
The traditional setar typically uses mulberry wood for the soundboard and either mulberry or walnut for the bowl. However, the Special Dalbergia Nigra Persian Setar INCI-4 deviates from this tradition to achieve a brighter and more refined tonal character. This unique setar is crafted using some of the rarest and most exquisite materials available:
- Soundboard: Made from high-quality Canadian Cedar, known for its excellent acoustic properties.
- Bowl: Crafted from the rare and valuable Dalbergia Nigra (Brazilian Rosewood), renowned for its rich and resonant tone.
- Fingerboard and Bowl Inlays: Enhanced with Pernambuco (Paubrasilia echinata), an endemic species traditionally used in bow making, adding a unique aesthetic and tonal quality.
- Inlay Decoration: Adorned with green Mexican abalone shell inlays, providing a beautiful and intricate design.
Unique Features
This setar brings together hard-to-find, premium materials from around the world, creating a blend of superior tonal qualities and stunning visual appeal. The use of Dalbergia Nigra for both the bowl and fingerboard, combined with the Pernambuco inlays and Canadian Cedar soundboard, results in a setar with a bright, clear, and resonant sound.
